Even worse for whichever one of us slips up this weekend: the loser of our Wembley picks is sentenced to wear the Double J shirt on next week’s broadcast.
Besides making our predictions for what happens in Wembley Stadium, we have to look at how Wednesday night’s Dynamite in Glasgow set the board for Sunday.
Will Ospreay kicked off the night with an emotional address to the Scottish crowd, recounting his long road through the UK independent scene before putting Kenny Omega on notice. When Omega brought Ospreay’s son into the rivalry, all mutual respect went out the window. Ospreay made it clear: he is walking into Wembley to take it all.
The Continental Challenge Cup Finals are officially set. Jon Moxley outlasted fellow Death Rider Claudio Castagnoli in a physical war, choking him out to secure his spot. Later in the night, Nigel McGuinness fought through a battered ankle to submit Kyle O’Reilly, completing an incredible comeback story and setting up a historic clash against Moxley on home soil.
Tensions also boiled over in the women’s division after Mercedes Mone blindsided AEW Women’s World Champion Willow Nightingale backstage, targeting Willow’s hand ahead of their title bout. Add in Swerve Strickland picking up a hard-fought win over Jack Perry and the brewing storm surrounding the Casino Gauntlet, and Sunday is loaded with intrigue.
